Marbella West

The area of Marbella west starts at San Pedro de Alcántara and stretches all the way down to Estepona. In recent years, the area has been referred to as The New Golden Mile, where large communities are made up of affordable properties and luxury frontline beach developments.

San Pedro de Alcántara is like most typical Spanish towns on the Costa del Sol, offering a shopping area, quiet parks, natural gardens and traditional Spanish plazas. The stretch of coastline between San Pedro de Alcántara and Estepona is referred to as the New Golden Mile.

The newly built promenade by the beach is seeing new developments and bringing more property investment in town. Tourism in San Pedro is also at an all time high, with its traditional Spanish way of life attracting those who want to experience authentic Spanish culture.

The land surrounding San Pedro is known to be highly fertile, producing good quality crops that are later used in local cuisine and sold at the street markets.

San Pedro has several urbanisations within its municipal lines that are affordable and within walking distance to Puerto Banús. The town is known to be very traditionally Spanish and family-oriented.

Guadalmina Baja is one of the most sought after neighbourhoods in Marbella and the Costa del Sol as a general. It has been built around the world-class 5* Hotel Guadalmina and Golf Course. The beaches in the area have been awarded the blue flag, making them environmentally safe and increasingly popular amongst families.

Guadalmina Alta, north of Guadalmina Baja, is another sought after residential area. The area’s 18-hole golf course opened in 1959 and has since become one of the most established courses in the area. The Guadalmina shopping centre provides local residents with a wide variety of amenities and services, including a supermarket, banks, boutique shops, cafés and many exquisite restaurants.

Atalaya Park is strategically placed between Marbella and Estepona and home to the famous 4* Atalaya Park Golf Hotel & Resort, popular among families. The nearby Aloha Park golf course, while a members club, is also open to green fee paying guests, making it one of the more popular courses on the Costa del Sol.
